Water City
Part 1 of another city drawing: this is the fictional typology I came up with for this city, I focused on including a wide variety of hydrological features and continued to work on developing a cohesive realistic geomorphology of the fictional site. Dark lines are the banks of the bodies of water, the light lines are elevation lines, and the area with x’s are marshland.
At the Mouth of the same river we can see it intersect with the output of an elevated lake pushing through multiple rock, forming a waterfall. sediment deposited by the water fall on the right bank of the river slows and diverrts some of the river’s strong current. Said current then deposits its sediment upstream of the waterfall, creating a small cove of sandy beaches.
This is a section of the main river on the site. Here we can see the waterway maneuvering through a landscape dotted with hard rock outcroppings in a landscape dominated by rolling hills of softer sediment.
Here we see a system of streams that empty out into large, salty bodies of water, namely the sea, and a lagoon. Focusing on the sea-bound stream, we can see how it has built up a barrier beach where it penetrates a rock outcropping.
